Runs with IBM iYes ... Minimum i5/OS V5R4. No IOP needed. RAID-5 or RAID-6 needs the auxiliary cache card (#5583).

The REDP-5052 #5777 entry says the pair with the auxiliary cache is #5582, but its own #5583 entry and IBM Docs say #5583 is the IOP-less pair built on #5777.

IBM says it is supported on all POWER5 and POWER6 models and supported I/O enclosures except #5790. It appears in the SCSI and SAS adapter tables of the Power 520 and Power 550 Redbooks. The IOP-based twin #5738 is not a POWER6 option because POWER6 processor enclosures do not take IOP cards.

Before you order 5777

The drive bay and controller setup decides how many drives the server can hold and how they are protected. Changing it usually means planning downtime, so check it against your machine type first.
