REDP-5052 says the cache cable uses port four of the controller; the POWER7 574F page says port 3. Both describe the last of the four ports.

IBM says it is supported on all POWER5 and POWER6 models. The Power 520 and Power 550 Redbooks name #5583 as one of the 1.5 GB write cache controllers that meet the IBM i Express and Solution Edition minimums on the 8203-E4A and 8204-E8A. It is an IOP-less part, which matters because POWER6 processor enclosures do not take IOP cards.
