System p

IBM's AIX/Linux-focused server product line, sold on the same underlying POWER processor family as System i but as a separate brand until the 2008 Power Systems unification.

System p was IBM's product name for its UNIX/Linux-oriented server line, running AIX or Linux, sold from roughly 2004 through early 2008 on POWER5 and early POWER6 hardware. It shared processor silicon with System i but was marketed as a distinct product family.
