End of Service (EOS / EOSL)

EOS / EOSL

The date IBM stops offering standard hardware maintenance for a given system, after which factory parts, contracted field service, and firmware updates are no longer available through IBM directly.

End of Service (EOS), also called End of Service Life (EOSL), is the date IBM stops offering a standard hardware maintenance contract for a given machine type. For Power6 and Power6+ systems, that date was March 31, 2019, per IBM announcement letter 917-163.
